My Top 12 Games of 2018

It's nearly the end of 2018 and what a great year for geek and gamers alike with a lot of companies publishing great games. So I've decided to recap them before the year ends. Also games like Shadow of the Tomb Raider won't be making this list cause of its lack of new innovation and weak story compared to the two games that came before it. It's quite sad for me since I'm a big fan of the Tomb Raider franchise since its PS1 days.

This is my Top 12 Games list so its high likely a lot of other games won't be making this list simply because. Also a lot of new games made the list simply cause of its fun factor alone. Also I'm not going to include remakes for this so sorry Shadow of the Colossus. With that cleared let's get on with the list.

Geekatana Anime Review: Myriad Color Phantom World

It's been a while since I made an anime review so I've decided to make a quick one. And for this one I've decided to make a review of Myriad Colors Phantom World or Musaigen no Phantom World as it's known in Japan. This one is done by Kyoto Animations the company responsible for such series like The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Clannad and FullMetal panic? Fumoffu among others.

I'm a big fan of Kyoto Animations since Full Metal Fumoffu is one of my favorite series and is still is to this day. This series was recommended to me by a friend years back and its sad that it's just now I got around to making this review.

My Top 12 Movies of 2018

With the review for Aquaman pretty much wrapping up my 2018 I want-to-see movie list I guess it's time for me to move into other things namely making My Top Movies list. This is a list of the movies I watched this year so Creed II or A Star Is Born won't be making the list since I cannot rank something I haven't watched. So many great movies that came out this year it's tough to make the list.

There is like 8 superhero movies that came out this year alone and that's enough to make their own top list somewhere. So much great films that I've decided to make a Top 12 list instead of a Top 10 list instead.

How I Score the Movies in My Review

Some of you might be wondering how I score movies in my reviews so I thought I'd make a short article to explain how I do them. It's not going to guarantee you are  going to agree with my methods of scoring but hey everyone has they own way of judging movies and that's the beauty of movie review and opinion in the internet.

Hopefully after reading this you will get an idea on how I do them and hopefully have a little fun reading this article. So baseball bats, torches and pitchforks down and no hate please.

Geekatana Movie Review: Aquaman

Aside from being the butt of many jokes for some thirty something years Aquaman is probably the least character in DC extensive roster of characters to make a film with. Even if you watch the Justice League cartoon you will barely see his character pop up in an episode. The mostl screen time the character got in any DC animated film was probably from Flashpoint Paradox.

So one can pretty much tell that Warner and DC making a film about Aquaman just cause of the positive feedback the character got from the Justice League movie is clearly a big gamble.

My Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2019

The year 2018 is over and its been a really awesome year with movies some great and some not so good. I was planning to do My Top 10 Best movies of the year but the year isn't over yet so Ill do one better and do a My Top 10 Most Anticipated Movie for 2019. Trailers and what not has been popping up so I guess now is a good time as any to make one.

With so many movies scheduled for next year it's a good sign that a lot of your favorites aren't going to make this list since this are mostly movies I'm specifically excited about. This is a tough list to make since there are a lot of movies I'm also excited to see that didn't make the Top 10 list.

Geekatana Movie Review: Spider-man Into the Spider-verse

There's been more than five Spider-man films to date. And although the past Spider-man films has been a hit or miss it has yet to struck it big in its animated film department. And knowing the Spider-man Into the Spider-verse is being done by Sony isn't exactly as thrilling as it sounds. Let's face it Sony isn't exactly have a consistently good record in their animated films lately specially when you remember one of their latest animated film was the Emoji movie.

The trailer for Spider-man Into the Spider-verse looks promising but as we always say great trailers doesn't really result to having great movies. So despite having high hopes I'm still rather skeptical about this film.

Geekatana Game Review: Spiderman Friend or Foe

I've wanted to do the game review of Spiderman Friend or Foe for a while now. It has been on my to-do-list for months. And since Spiderman Into the Spider-verse recently hit around theaters in the Philippines now is a good a time as any to do this one.

I'm also a big superhero fan so mixing Beat Em Ups and superhero characters are always one of the best kind of beat em ups for me. Games like Captain Commando, Captain America and the Avengers and the X-men was some of my favorites.

Geekatana Anime Review: Hidan no Aria

I'm not a big fan of action harem but I can say that there are some that I actually like and I find as guilty pleasures from time to time. Not to mention some of them have really good story and characters.

Just to throwback, JC Staff has some really good animes to its name like the Slayers Series, Maid sama, Zero no Tsukaima, Toaru kagaku no Railgun series and Toradora. So you can tell that I got high hopes when I found out JC Staff was doing Hidan no Aria.

Geekatana Game Review: Evil Zone

I'm a big fan of 3d anime style fighting games such as Destrega, Psychic Force and Battle Arena Toshinden in the arcade. It's one of those easy to get into 3d none Tekken fighting games novice players like me can easily get into and enjoy. So when a game with a familiar premise like Evil Zone hits the ps1 console back in 1999 I knew I have to get a copy of the game.

Originally released as Eretzvaju in japan. Evil Zone is a 3d fighting game by Yukes which is best described as an amalgamation of Psychic Force and Destrega games.

Geekatana Movie Review: The Grinch

With the review of How the Grinch Stole Christmas done its time to jump into the latest movie adaptation of the Grinch. If you're interested on reading my review on How the Grinch Stole Christmas than just follow the link here.

Also seeing the Grinch in 3D is a nice change of pace and I'm interested on how they would execute it on film as compared to the 2000 version with Jim Carrey and the animated cartoon itself.

Geekatana Movie Review: How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)
