Geekatana Anime Review: Tears to Tiara

Tears to Tiara is one of those anime I watched back in 2009. It's based on a tactical adult game entitled Tears to Tiara: Garland of the Earth which is the PS3 port of the original tactics game of 2005 which is just titled as Tears to Tiara. Much of the characters and story scenarios added to the PS3 port are used in the anime itself. Of course back then I didn't know any of these stuff and just enjoyed the series for what it is.

Tears to Tiara also is the fastest anime aired outside Japan with the english dub releasing on the same day the japanese dub is released. The english version airing in Animax Asia.

Hotel Transylvania 2 (2015) Movie Review

With the first Hotel Transylvania review out of the way I guess it's time we move on to the sequel. For those that are still not in the know I'm trying to do a quick review of the first two Hotel Transylvania movies before the third movie hits theaters in the Philippines. Much like the first Hotel Transylvania movie this one pretty much went under the radar as well for me specially since it had some heavy competition like Starwars Force Awakens and the likes back in 2015.

Having already viewed and reviewed the first Hotel Transylvania I sort of got an idea of what to expect going in and was really anxious on what surprises they got in store for the sequel.

Geekatana Game Review: Ace Combat 5: Unsung War

Those that know me personally knows that I'm a big fan of arcade style flight simulations. Although arguably I haven't played a lot of arcade flight simulations aside from what I could get my hands on for my old PC and PS1. I guess my love for the genre stems from watching movies like Top Gun. So I've decided to make video game review of one of my most favorite arcade simulation game on the PS2 which is Ace Combat 5: Unsung War.

Ace Combat 5: Unsung War came out for the PS2 late in 2004 about two to three years after Ace Combat 4 Shattered Skies which was the first Ace Combat game for the PS2. It's also one of three Ace Combat titles to be released on the PS2. The third being Ace Combat Zero.

Hotel Transylvania (2012) Movie Review

Hotel Transylvania 3 is going to hit the Philippines sometime in August this year so I might as well do a quick review of the first two movies that came before it starting with the first Hotel Transylvania movie that came out back in 2012. I'm not a big fan of Adam Sandler since his style of comedy kind of gets old real fast. Maybe it's this reason why Hotel Transylvania went under the radar for me back then.

Aside from Hotel Transylvania movies like the Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, Amazing Spiderman also came out earlier that year so I imagined Hotel Transylvania went under the radar for a lot of people as well.

Geekatana Food Review: Bad Bird

Me and my sister just finished watching a movie and we were looking for a place to have dinner together. She wanted to try something new than our usual so after a bit of looking around we came upon Bad Bird.

I have never heard of it until now but my sister seem to know about it. She's more of a foodie than I am so its not that surprising. Since I'm a sucker for chicken I've agreed to give it a go as well.

Jollibee Jolly Store Toy Review

I always wanted to try doing a toy review on this Blog but kept putting it off since I don't have that much toys to review to begin with and also that I don't know how to do one. So this will be my first toy review for this Blog and if it goes well I might try to do more in the future. I guess the old saying goes that if you want to learn to swim you got to first jump in the water....and hopefully not drown long enough for you to learn.

I'm big fan of Jollibee but has mostly put off buying every Jollibee kiddie meal toy since due to a lack of available space to display them but when I saw the Jollibee Jolly Store set displayed at a local Jollibee store near our place I knew I had to have the whole set.

Ant Man and the Wasp Movie Review

Where was Ant Man during Infinity War incident? This was probably one of the main reason I wanted to watch Ant man and the Wasp so much. There's been a number of fan theories going on the internet these past few months before the movie trailer was dropped. Ant man wasn't in Infinity War which was strange since he was there during Avengers Civil War. So comic and movie theorist are abuzz with their own interpretations and predictions on where he could be.

Yet still even after reading some of these theories I try pushed them out of my head and let the movie surprise me. I've decided to watch this movie on 4D cinema with my sister just for the kicks. We both thought that watching the movie in 4D will add to the wow factor of the movie. I promise that this will not however affect my review of this film in anyway.

Geekatana Anime Review: Heroic Age

I was really having second thoughts about this anime when I first saw it. One of the reason is that the plot is rather confusing when I first started it. Not to mention it reminds me some much of Gundam since its the same manga artist. The artwork was really nice though and thats probably part of the reason I stick with the series until the last episode and boy was I so glad I did.

Heroic Age was aired back in September 2007 and by that time anime's like Gurren Laggann, Naruto Shippuden, Gundam 00 was already out and is dominating the anime scene so this one had a lot of heavy hitters to compete with. It went under the radar for a lot of people and I was lucky enough it had a short run in one of the local channels in the Philippines.

Ant Man (2015) Movie Review

I'm no fan of Ant man and the Wasp since they are probably some of the more unimpressive characters in the Avengers and the Marvel universe for me. Sure the ability to shrink and grow is all cool but after watching the movie Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Inner Space and probably half a dozen other movies the concept of an Ant Man sort of loses its appeal. In fact I don't like the movie so much that I never bothered to watch it on TV when it finally aired. It's just one of those MCU movies that I just skipped.

A lot of folks told me it was good but I was still skeptical and since Ant man and the Wasp is going to hit theaters tomorrow I've decided to watch the first Ant man (2015) movie just to add it on my Marvel movie review list. Safe to say my expectations are really low for this film.
