Geekatana Review - Final Fantasy VII - Spiky hair mercenary joins Eco Warriors

Final Fantasy VII is a role playing game developed by Square for the playstation console. It started development back in 1994 and was originally planned to be released SNES. Its the first final fantasy title to use full motion 3D graphics. It marked the return of the series creator and producer Hironobu Sakaguchi, director Yoshinori Kitase and the composer Nobuo Uematsu.

Final Fantasy VII is certainly not the first JRPG I played for the PS1 but it is definitely one of the first Final Fantasy game in the series that I actually played since I got a playstation console. This review will have nothing to do with the Remake of said game as I feel that deserve its own separate review. Also minor spoilers are up for this one just in case.

Geekatana Game Review: Contra: Shattered Soldier

I'm a big Contra fan ever since playing the first game back on the family com many years back. Although the game kicked my butt more times than I can count it's still a game  I go back to time and again with my friends simply of how fun and frustrating it was. it's one of those rare games that you tend to both love and hate at the same time.

So when I find out that a Contra game named Contra Shattered Soldier was on the playstation 2 I knew I have to play it even I know as heck it's probably going to be hard as heck.

Geekatana Game Review: Evil Zone

I'm a big fan of 3d anime style fighting games such as Destrega, Psychic Force and Battle Arena Toshinden in the arcade. It's one of those easy to get into 3d none Tekken fighting games novice players like me can easily get into and enjoy. So when a game with a familiar premise like Evil Zone hits the ps1 console back in 1999 I knew I have to get a copy of the game.

Originally released as Eretzvaju in japan. Evil Zone is a 3d fighting game by Yukes which is best described as an amalgamation of Psychic Force and Destrega games.

Geekatana Game Review: Omega Boost

If your a kid during the 90's you'd probably up to your neck deep with shows about giant robot and mech games which was sort of the trends due to popular shows like Macross or the Gundam series. The game developers have came out with games that involve this giant robots from every gaming platform available back in the 90's but we're not going to review each and every one of them...just one. The one that came out for the PS1 console back in 1999, Omega Boost.

Why Omega Boost? Cause I feel this game is one of the best if not the best mecha game that came out during the 1999's. Sure its probably had its flaws and suffered from a bad review but its an awesome game. It's both ahead of its time and criminally underrated.
