Looking Into the Shaggy Meme Phenomenon

The Shaggy Meme. When did this all started and why did it blew up this big in such a short time probably even and over passing the Sasuke choke meme in popularity. The origin is as simple as it is beautiful. So let's delve into it a bit further.

Before we go any further I like to point out that I don't own any of the photos used in the making of this article and are there for references and you can easily find them and their respective creators on the internet.

Geekatana Game Review: R-Type Final

Me and R-Type games has a sort of this complicatedly deep love and hate relationship over the years since I first played it at the arcade many years back. Love cause its probably one of the best shooters out there and hate cause let's face it I really suck at shmups. Blame it on clumsy fingers or whatever I've been there and it's enough to almost make me cry. I think I've beaten most of the R-Type games at least thrice.

So you kind of know how much it pains me to do a review of R-Type Final for the PS2 knowing that this would be the last shmups of the franchise ever. A fun roller-coaster ride of a game. But I guess all good rides have to end sometime.

Geekatana Anime Review: Solty Rei

I first watched Solty Rei on Animax back in 2007. It's one of those anime that I know very little about back then and it was simply something that was on the channel at that time. I was already hooked on anime since a college friend of mine introduced me to Evangelion so I sort of soak any anime I came across.

Although more story driven the concept of Solty Rei was not new by anime standards. The cyperpunk post apocalypse noir was an overused theme by the early 2000's and it weighed on the series greatly resulting in a dull reception. Most folks dropped the series before giving it much chance. Which I find sad since this series had so much potential.

Mortal Kombat 11 -Thoughts and Reaction

Mortal Kombat 11 had just finished its Kommunity Reveal just last January 17 and I'm pretty sure those that have seen it are pretty hyped. Mortal Kombat at its core is considered by some as one of the top tier fighting game franchises since it's first launched back in 1992. Mortal Kombat 11 blew a lot of folks away with the trailer reveal last December and with the Kommunity reveal we got a lot more to talk about.

So I'm going to try and breakdown what we know so far about the game thus far and what we know of the game based on the previous MK game. So possible spoilers ahead. Also being on the topic of Mortal Kombat this article will contain some scenes of blood and gore so turn back if this offends you in any way.

John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum - Official Trailer (2019) - My Thoughts and Reaction

We keep getting trailers after trailer this week. We barely got Spider man Far from Home trailer two days ago now we got a new trailer for the third John Wick movie. The first John Wick film didn't scored high in the box office but the second one broke ground after the good feedback the first film had from its audiences.

The official trailer just dropped so I'm going to go into detail what I like about it and what I didn't like about it and what do we know about the film based on the information and rumors that has been circulating around the internet. A little bit of spoiler if you haven't seen the first two films.

Geekatana Game Review: Elevator Action Returns

Also known as Elevator Action 2 in some areas, Elevator Action Return is one of those arcade game that very few people knew existed. Personally I didn't even knew this game existed until I happen to come upon it at an arcade one day.

I have been to a lot of arcade back years back but I only seen this in only one arcade store carry this title which is sad since its leaps and bounds better than the first game.

Spider-man: Far from Home Official Teaser Trailer Breakdown

The first trailer for Spiderman Far from Home just dropped on Sony Pictures Entertainment youtube channel and Ive decided to give you my thoughts on the new trailer based on what most folks know about it so far. Mostly how much of the trailer aligns to the rumors and leak footages and possible plot of Spiderman Far from Home as far as these rumors go. There might be spoiler to previous Marvel movies on this so you have been warned.

As always this isn't a definitive analysis on the trailer as this is just my thoughts and interpretation on said traielr and a lot of it might not be true or its just Marvel leading audiences on as you know marvel is known to show trailers that end up differently from the final film itself.

Pokemon Themed metal Straw at 7-11

What do you get when you combine a metal straw and a Pokemon? Well it's having a Pokemon themed metal straw that's what! Ok that statement is probably as cheesy and weak as Sunkern or Magikarp but you got to admit these metal straws are a real winner.

7-11 stores has been known for having some really cool stuff and although not everything appeals to everyone these Pokemon Themed Metal Straws is a guaranteed hit to Pokemon fans everywhere...specially if you're a Pokemon X and Y. Even if you're not into Pokemon you got to admit these kind of metal straws are really, really cute.

Geekatana Movie Review: Bumblebee

With Bumblebee finally showing throughout theaters in the Philippines I finally got to see the movie and do a review on it. Folks in other countries have already seen it and there's a lot of movie review going on the internet since early December last year. I wanted to see Bumblebee and judge the film without being swayed by other opinions so I stayed away from spoilers and reviews until I got my own review out.

Being one of many Transformers fan who watched the 80's Transformers cartoons I got high hopes for this film.  The Bay films are decent but not exactly the Transformers film I wanted. The previous Transformers films diverts from the source material way too much for my liking. The trailers showed much promise but still I kept an open mind.

Geekatana Anime Review: Zetsuen no Tempest

When folks talk about an animation studio like Bones Inc or simply known to most anime fans as studio Bones the first things to come to mind are shows like Noragami, Soul Eater, Darker Than Black, Fulmetal Alchemist and My Hero Academia. Sadly so many great series to its name eventually one or two anime falls through the crack and don't receive the recognition it deserve.

One such series is Zetsuen no Tempest or better known as Blast of Tempest and also translated as The Civilization Blaster which is about as unexciting and cheesy title as an anime series can get. It's on my Top Underrated anime list here.
