Cosplay Matsuri 2017

Cosplay Matsuri is one of the most highly anticipated cosplay event of the year. Sadly due to a busy Christmas schedule me and some cosplay friends only managed to go on the third and last day of the J-theme event. We left home early that Saturday morning to avoid traffic and also so we can check out all the merchant and artist booths before we decide to suit up in our respective costumes.

Cosplay Matsuri aims to combine the festive fun of a Matsuri Festival to that of Cosplay giving folks the best hybrid of both. Brought to you by the folks at Cosplaymania Its a three day event held at the SMX Convention Center in MOA from Dec 28 to 30, 2017. This is the second Cosplay Matsuri event in the Country with the first Cosplay Matsuri being held also in the same venue and date of the year. Only this time its being held in two Function halls now. So double the space double the enjoyment.

Watching movies is pastime of mine when Ive got the time or budget to do so. It goes up there with surfing the internet, playing video games, watching anime and the likes. But I dont watch every movie out there unless its geek or otaku related or anywhere in between. But with that being said I did managed to watch over twelve movies this year. A lot of which are good, some not so much, then theres a few that makes me question why I went to watch it and what Im doing with my life.

Mind you this is my Top 10 movies. Movies that I really like. Im sure some of your favorite movies might not be on this list. But thats ok. We have our own favorites. With that thing cleared lets get to the Top 10 list.

Gandarrappido: The Revenger Squad Movie Review

December is that one time of the year where Metro Manila Film Festival rolls in and eight of the best Philippine made movies vie for supremacy. Its  kind of the Philippines version of the Oscars. Of all the eight Id choose to watch Gandarrappido: The Revenger Squad, simply because its a comedy. I can easily just watch a horror and feel scared or watch a drama and feeling emotional, but Id rather go out of a movie theater laughing. Besides Im a sucker for Superhero movies.

Gandarrappido: The Revenger Squad is an action comedy superhero film from the Phiulippines that is directed by Joyce Bernal and starred by Daniel PadillaVice Ganda and Pia Wurtzbach.

Ozine Fest Anime Figure Special 2017

The awesome folks at Otakuzine Anime Magazine are at it again to bring otaku and anime fans its annual Ozine Fest Event. One of the most anticipated and well known anime/otaku event in the Philippines. Ozine Fest Anime Figure Special is a two day event once again held at Megatrade Hall 2 of SM Megamall.

It was already the second day of the event when I got to the event due to a busy family Christmas schedule and got to Megamall around 2 in the afternoon which is pretty late when one wants to avail of the freebies they also offered for early bird ticket holders. Something that has become a staple for a lot of the major otaku events in the Country.

RWBY Volume 5 Chapter 10 Reaction

This is my reaction and commentary about RWBY Chapter 10 of Volume 5 of the series. Its created my Monty Oum. Ive been a Monty Oum fan since viewing his work on Dead Fantasy on youtube a few years back. I was even more delighted when I found out he also did work on Red vs Blue which I was also following back then. Ill probably do a quick reaction on the RWBY trailers and a summary reaction on the first RWBY volumes to keep things updated.

RWBY is an American anime-style web series created by Monty Oum for Rooster Teeth. The show is set in the fictional world of Remnant, where young people train to become Huntsmen and Huntresses to protect their world from the creatures of Grimm.

CROSS ANGE Rondo of Angel and Dragons Anime Review

Cross Ange was recommended to me back then since Im a big fan of mecha anime and Ive been a fan of this series up to this day. Sure it probably wont get as much recognition as other big name mecha titles out there but it has made an expression to those that have watched it. And it was received well enough to have its own game on the PS Vita and also be included as character in Super Robot Taisen V alongside big mechas like the Gundam Unicorn and the Gundam Crossbones.

Cross Ange: Rondo of Angel and Dragons is a Japanese mecha anime television series produced by Sunrise. The same company that gave you Gundam. Cross Ange aired from October 2014 to March 2015. A manga adaptation began publication in August 2014.

Dragonball Fighter Z and What we know about it so Far

Im not a hardcore fan of the Dragonball series but Ive always enjoyed the over the top fight scenes the series has shown over the years. So Im so happy when I heard that there was a new dragonball game coming out soon. Yes folks, Bandai Namco Entertainment is currently working on a new fighting game thats been creating a lot of hype for Dragonball fans and fighting game fanatics in general. And that game is Dragonball FighterZ

Not to be confused with Dragon ball Z: Budokai and the Budokai Tenkaichi game for the Playstation 2 by game producer Spike, Dragonball Fighter Z is an upcoming 2.5D fighting game by Arc System Works and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, it is based on the Dragon Ball franchise scheduled for release on the PlayStation 4Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. It is set to be released January 26, 2018 internationally and February 1, 2018 in Japan.

Jumanji (1995) Review

Due to the Metro Manila Film Festival, the movie  Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle wont be showing in theaters here until January 8 so I wont be able to make a review of the movie until next year. So instead Im going to make a quick review of the first original movie Jumanji. The movie that stared Robin Williams and Bonnie Hunt along with Kirsten Dunst and Bradley Pierce. There will be spoilers so if you havent watched the movie yet you have been warned.

SPOILER WARNING

Jumanji is a America fantasy adventure film by Joe Johnston. It is an adaptation of the 1981 children's book with the same title by Chris Van Allsburg. it was released in December 15, 1995 in theaters and it became the 10th highest grossing film in the year 1995 with a film budget of 65 million dollars. There was a sort of sequel named Zathura: A Space Adventure which is based in another one of Van Allsburg books which I also got to watch but this review is about the 1995 Jumanji movie so lets stick with that.

The 12th Christmas and Collectibles Fair, Day 2

I just got out of the theater that day after watching Starwars the Last Jedi for the second time at Glorietta 4 that morning compliments of sir Oliver. me and a group of cosplay friends of mine headed off to SM Megamall for the annual Christmas Toys and Collectibles Fair currently being held there. Traffic was hell as usual due to the Christmas rush during this time of the year and we managed to arrive at the event proper at around two in the afternoon. Plenty of time.

It was a cloudy Saturday and it was already the second day of the Toy Fair. But hey Its generally a Toy Convention, I like toys, so I'm excited. Sure id probably wont buy much due to my abysmal budget but sometimes just checking out the booths and meeting up with friends and what not is at times always worth the price of admission.

As the lights dim and the Starwars logo flashes on screen I heard the crowd applauded and cheered. There is definitely a lot of hype and expectations from fans and casual audiences alike for this movie. Will it be like Empire Strikes Back? Will Rey and Kylo switch sides? The internet is filled with fan theories so much that I don't really know what to expect going in to this movie. And as the Starwars scroll starts, all that I'm certain is that the movie theater is very cold and I'm still eating popcorn.

Starwars: A New Hope Movie Review

With Starwars the Last Jedi just a few days away, I've decided to revisit and binge watch all the Starwars movie prior to it and do a quick review of all of them before Starwars Episode VIII rolls in. Starwars is the story of Luke Skywalker a farmboy with dreams of becoming a pilot, that in a twist of fate suddenly finds himself joining up with a Jedi Knight, a cocky smuggler, a hulking wookie and two uncanny androids as they somehow save the galaxy from a galactic empire world destroying weapon all the while trying to rescue Princess Leia from an intimidating black clad bad guy named Darth Vader. Seriously, who doesn't know this story by now.
