This is my
review for the second movie in the prequel Attack of the Clones. The second
movie in the trilogy prequel of Starwars. Im doing a quick review of all the
Starwars movies before I do the review of Starwars the Last Jedi. Im doing this
in chronological order as they were shown in the movies.
Attack of
the Clones is a 2002 film directed by George
Lucas and written by Lucas and Jonathan
Hales. It stars Ewan McGregor, Natalie
Portman, Hayden Christensen, Ian
McDiarmid, Samuel L. Jackson, Christopher
Lee, Temuera Morrison, Anthony
Daniels, Kenny Baker and Frank Oz.

The story takes place Ten
years after Starwars the Phantom and for some odd reason Anakin Skywalker seem
to age faster and eventually he and shares a forbidden romance with that girl
she met in the first prequel movie who was about roughly a lot taller than him
but through some Starwars logic he looks older now. You can tell this movie is
trying very hard.

The plot is basically Anakin
and Padne relationship and Anakin suddenly turning into the dark side but more
inclined into the two dating and how Anakin is turning evil but at mostly he
just appears like this big a whiny kid who complains a lot. The character
choices and the dialogue in this movie could use a lot of improvements. Oh and
theres someone who is out to kill Padme but seems to hire the worst kind of
assassins for the job. I mean Jango Fett is in this movie and he cant seem to
do it too. There are many times where the villains could kill the good guys
anytime in this movie but didnt take the chance to do it.

Visuals are great however if you dont mind a lot of them still being generally made of cgi than practical effects that the first Starwars trilogy made famous. Theres a lot of over the top lightsaber fights. All those flipping might look good on the big screen but as far as lightsaber duel goes, was that all really necessary?

Most of the character acting
was bad save for Ewan McGregors character Obi Wan which was a great improvement
to how he was in the Phantom Menace. The others...not so much. Anakin character
doesnt have much in term of emotion and has this strange way of looking at the
camera that made him look creepy. And why is Padme keep changing his clothes.
Its like they wanted her to change more clothes just so they can sell more
toys, like in a certain failed superhero movie.

Overall this movie could have
been better if they went for character development instead of Anakin and Padme
dating most of the time and the female senator showing off her wardrobe
collection. I want to give this movie a better score but it just repeated the
mistake of the first prequel movie. Thank goodness a certain gungan has a lot
less screen time in this movie or the score of this movie for me would have
been a lot worst.
