We
keep getting trailers after trailer this week. We barely got Spider man Far
from Home trailer two days ago now we got a new trailer for the third John Wick
movie. The first John Wick film didn't scored high in the box office but the
second one broke ground after the good feedback the first film had from its
audiences.
The
official trailer just dropped so I'm going to go into detail what I like about
it and what I didn't like about it and what do we know about the film based on
the information and rumors that has been circulating around the internet. A
little bit of spoiler if you haven't seen the first two films.
Judging
from the first few minutes of the trailer it would appear this new film picks
up a few minutes right after the events of the second movie where ian McShane's
character Winston gave John Wick put a 40 million bounty on his head and gave him
a one hour head start to run for his life.
So
the trailer is basically every killer, assassin in and out of the Continental
will most likely want a piece of poor John. And for any fan of John Wick that
means more body count than probably both the previous film combined. At least a
lot of us hope it will.
I love how the song the Impossible Dream plays during the entirety of the trailer it gives it sort of that nostalgic feel to it ala Godfather or the Untouchables. its absolutely perfect for this type of trailer.
We
also see Laurence Fishburne's character the Bowery King in this which was
pivotal person to John Wicks little adventure in the second film. It would be
interesting to see which side of the coin the Bowery King lands in this third
film. Will he help poor John again or will he side with Winston now that Johns
a wanted man.
We
also get to see new characters into play like Halle Berry's character who seem
to be on john Wick side as we seen her and Keenu side by side in a scene. And
she seem to also have a dog so I guess that makes them...friends?
Halle
Berry has some issues with her acting but at least she can deliver in Bond-like
action flicks more than she could do in Catwoman. At least her role in Storm
was sort of ok. I think she is a good actress when she has the right role to
play.
What
I didn't like in the trailer is they showed Keanu in the desert which I think
shows the end of the film itself where John escaped the city and is somehow got
stranded in that place. I hope I'm wrong but I do think the trailer did show a bit too much.
Trailer
aside they mentioned that the third movie will mark the end of John Wick's journey
as a character and the next film in the franchise for Lions Gate will be titled
the Continental which will explore the assassin hotel of the John Wick
universe.
There's
also a rumor that they are working on a female led spin off entitled the
Ballerina. Will this be Halle Berry character? Is the third John Wick film sort
of an introduction to her character? Any theories are open at this point of
time.
I
just find it intriguing that ballerina was also a profession of Black Widow and
that other assassin flick with a female lead entitled the Red Sparrow.
Also
Keanu is set to join Tom Hanks and Tim Allen in Toy Story 4. So that's another exciting
thing to watch out for.
