Geeektana Movie Review: How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World

Now that that I've done a quick review of the first two How to Train films it's time to do the review for the third film. We watched this a few days after opening night and we had to take the 3D one since the regular ones are already full for that day. The folks at Dreamworks did an excellent job at marketing and handling the film since both the previous films before this has been solid ones which is rare for animated fantasy films.

I did a quick review of the first two films before seeing this film in theaters and tried to stay away from spoilers. Even so I went with an open mind since I have been disappointed way too much in the past.

Geektana Movie Review: How to Train Your Dragon 2

With the first movie out of the way I guess it's time to get into the second movie in this franchise. I'm guessing the first film did so well that the powers that be wanted another one. Well nothing new there really. Sadly the way sequels work it's not usually a guaranteed hit in fact most sequels to great films turn out to be flop.

The trailer didn't show much that's for sure except for the fact that Hiccup has some new tricks and has aged a bit. Still I was interested on what else they can bring to the franchise. But before we get into further I must warn that there will be minor spoilers but I think everyone has seen the film by now.

The House with a Clock in its Walls

Ill be honest I don't know anything about this film aside from seeing the trailer while watching another movie and seeing Jack Black starring in it. So one could say one of the reason I've decided to watch this was because of Jack Black himself whom I've liked since his role in School of Rock all the way to his voicing of the adorable and funny  Po in Kung-fu Panda. Plus Cate Blanchett is in this film.

I know watching a film just cause you like a certain actor or actress isn't exactly a good thing but to be fair I did a bit of research about this film before writing this review. Plus I feel  watching a fantasy comedy that isn't a harry Potter is a nice change of pace.

Ocean's 8 Non Spoiler Movie Review

I never watched Ocean's 11 (2001) movie. I didn't watched any of the sequel movies that came after it either. Not even the Ocean's 11 movie that was shown way back in the 60's. All i know about the previous film are what I can get from the internet which isn't really much.

But I do have seen a few heist films back in the day like the Die Hard, Mission Impossible and the likes. I'm really coming into this blind as a bat. With that being said let's dive into...Ocean's 8.

Thor Ragnarok Movie Review

I just had the chance to watch the movie last Wednesday with my sister at Uptown Mall. We were excited to see the film on its first day of showing here in the Philippines.

Thor Ragnarok is an entertaining movie from beginning to end and is probably the least darkest of all the Thor films. I would easily put this in my most favorite Thor movie thus far. Directed by Taika Waititi, the movie is both funny and entertaining without losing its seriousness when the scene calls for it. This is not just your typical good guy-bad guy movie as there are some serious character development in Chris Hemsworth's role as he goes from the compulsive battle loving thunder god to a savior of his people.
Thor looks at awe with what could be the biggest fight of his life yet.
