Geekatana Review: The Mandalorian (Season 2) More Easter eggs and Cameo

The Mandalorian is a spin off mini series aired on Disney+. Its Disneys latest shot at a live action tv show set on the star wars universe.

There's currently 2 season is the show done but for this review I'll be focusing on season 2 as I have already done the review of Season 1.

After a narrow escape the Mandalorian must now search for a Jedi to help him. But with little to no knowledge on where to look he must rely on his connections all the while trying to avoid folks that would want him or his bounty captured or dead. Allies are short and few in between and things could only get worst.

As plot goes the story starts off strong but dips a bit when Mando has to stop on an ice planet on an escort mission. Aside from that slow part all the rest feels pretty well done focusing more on the plot and introducing new or familiar characters from other star wars media.

The introduction of familiar characters makes the series more attached to the whole star wars universe as it gave live action version of familiar star wars characters like those from the star wars rebels cartoons.  They have good chemistry making the back and forth banter really entertaining.

The show uses practical effects and sets making the world rich and realistic feeling. The time is set after episode 6 of the movies so you get to see some famous settings and things from the movies making it as familiar yet entirely new at the same time.

My only negative for the second season would be some of the pacing in some of the episodes feel a bit too slow or too fast. Specially at the beginnibg. Certain characters are under utilized as they feel they should be. Other than that everything is great. Although you do need some knowledge of star wars lore to appreciate the easter eggs scattered in the show. Still it won't hinder your enjoyment.

The show is made with star wars fan in mind with the more you know about star wars the better the experience will be. Also you do need to watch the first season before jumping into this one.
