The Incredibles 2 Non Spoiler Review

The movie was packed when I went to see this film. First time I've seen a group of at most ten people going in together. I went to the theater early to reserve our seats but nearly all the seats are nearly taken that I had to settle for a movie seat near the top at the far back of the theater. There was a lot of hype riding on this movie. I've seen kids and adult of all ages line up to see this sequel film. A rare feat if you consider the first Incredibles movie came out nearly more than ten years ago. Since the movie just came out I'll be doing a none spoiler review for this one.

With the bar set high by the first Incredibles film I was kind of nervous going in to this film. Disney now owns Pixar and new management usually means new changes and most of the time changes are bad. Not to mention both the games based on the film the Incredibles for the X-Box and its supposed direct game sequel Rise of the Underminer for the PS were both really bad games.

The movie plot follows the aftermath of the first film and continues from there. If the first film focused on Bob Par (Mr. Incredible) this one focused more on his wife Helen (Elastigirl) as its suddenly her turn to do most of the hero work while Bob takes care of their baby Jack Jack and the rest of their kids. And that's the only the tip of their problem.

One of my main issue when going into animated movies is that usually the trailer showed the best part of the movie or it gave too much of the plot away. Clearly the movie was a lot better than what the trailer showed. And its a thrill ride from the opening to the end which is a give or take two hour long film.

Since much of the characters and powers are explored in the last film the second movie concentrated on story telling and plot. This movie clearly have a better villain for me at least in terms of motivations. You feel where the bad guy is coming from and why its doing what its doing.

There's not a dull moment in this movie whether your watching poor Bob as he tries to keep the kids in check or Elastigirl saving the day from one incident to the next. To Frozone freezing stuff. Everything just blends in flawlessly all thanks to great story transition, character and cinematography which are all a step up from the first film.

The only bad side about this film is that it's a bit darker compared to the first one but not so much that it will scare kids away. There's some philosophical aspect and morality aspect addressed on this movie that kids will probably don't understand. Yet it does adds layers to both the heroes and the villains in the movie.

If you're into superhero movies and the likes you will enjoy this movie. It has everything of what makes superhero movies great, great character development, plot, action, comedy. This is a proper sequel that every Incredibles fan have been waiting for. The ten plus years of wait was well worth it. It easily well earned the price of admission and I'd easily recommend this to anyone who is a fan of superhero genre.
