Jurassic Park 2 The Lost World Movie Review

This will be my quick movie review of Jurassic Park 2: The Lost World. For those that didn't know yet I'll be reviewing all of the Jurassic movie that had came out before I do a review on Jurassic World the Fallen Kingdom. You can check my review of Jurassic Park (1993) movie here.

I feel I can judge the Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom better if I go see and review all the movies that came before it. Plus I think it's kind of fun doing it this way. With that being said let's go on with the review.

Jurassic Park: The Lost World is the second movie that came after Jurassic Park. Since this movie is no longer on a Park and more of the other island that they sort of forgot to mention or even hinted on in the Jurassic park film.

You can tell this movie story plot is sort of just was forced into so they can make another movie and get the most out of the Jurassic hype that the first film started.

A bunch of scientist want to find out why dinosaurs are flourishing in this new island when they are supposed to be all female. That's the core plot. And since I've watched Jurassic park before doing this review I can easily recall a short scene in the first movie why this is already happening so basically there was no real reason to be there. Throw in some dinosaur poachers in the mix. And dinosaurs rampaging through San Diego.

There's even some funny one liners thrown in that range from cringe worthy and somewhat funny with Malcolm. Yes folks the one character who got injured in the first film and barely did anything in the first movie played by Goldblum is the main character in this film. He isn't a bad actor but when you compare his role in the first film he is so different here. It's like a different character only they look and sound the same.

The music score was good although not as memorable as the first film. Seeing new dinosaurs was always nice. It doesn't take away from the fun of seeing this creatures on the big screen.

Overall the movie was great when dinosaurs are on the scene when they are not on the scene you sort have this urge to just press skip until you get to the dinosaur parts which are mostly the third act of the movie. The movie jumps from being a kids friendly film to something that's not for kids. And this jumping back and forth sometimes hurt the movies overall appeal. A good film but could have been better.
