Before
deciding to do a review of Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom Ive decided to do
a quick review of all the Jurassic movies that came before it. Starting with Jurassic
Park since this is the iconic movie that started the Jurassic trend. It's going to
be quite the task since there's around four movies to go through and the Fallen Kingdom is scheduled to show within this week.
That's
a lot of movies to binge watch but Ill try my best and I hope you all stay
with me on this momentous task.
I
remember watching this movie back when it first aired years ago in 1993. Watching it
again feels like revisiting an old friend. It reminded me again on why I love
dinosaur so much and why I used to collect dinosaur stickers back in high
school. Ah good times indeed.
The
story of Jurassic park isn't really much just some folks decided to make a theme
Park filled with real life dinosaurs in a remote island somewhere. The idea was
half noble and half a cash grab for tourist at best. Wrap that up with bad security, a black out and a tropical storm and everything turns
into death park with dinosaurs.
Simple as the story seems but the film does
a great job of keeping you glued to the screen from beginning to end. If your
not being awed at the sight of dinosaurs then you're probably gripping your
movie seats in fear and suspense. Something Spielberg seem to have mastered
since the movie Jaws.
The
movie had an excellent cast as well with Goldblum, Sam Neill and Laura. This is also
one of the few earlier movies of Samuel L Jackson playing a side character before
his role in Die Hard and his iconic role as Nick Fury in the MCU movies.
I
got to give props to this film for having a lot of great cgi and dinosaur
effects that still hold up to this day. Like that scene with the triceratops. Cinematography
and camera angles are excellent, You don't feel confused on what's going on even
if the scene becomes intense which is a problem for a lot of films these days.
Overall
the movie is great with a lot of good jump scares and atmospheric scary
moments. Good story and sound effects. Truly one of Spielbergs masterpiece. A
must watch for any Spielberg fan or movie fan for that matter. The Jurassic
Park theme is still as iconic as ever since the first time I heard of it and
fits so well in the film.
