Street Fighter V AE - Season 4 DLC Character Breakdown

If you have been keeping up with the Street Fighter V updates than you probably already have known about the upcoming characters they just dropped recently for Street Fighter V Season 4.

I've decided to breakdown all of the characters from what we know about them so far from the pros and cons in term of their fighting style, special moves and fighting styles. take note that these moves can be change and alter before the final release so please take everything with a grain of salt just to be safe.

This new characters include E. Honda the sumo wrestler from Japan. Joining him are Poison and Lucia both from the Final Fight game franchise of Capcom. Anyways lets all get started with the basic breakdowns.

Honda

Honda is a character a lot of players probably didn't expect to see in Street Fighter V. He is a fighter that uses Sumo wrestling as his move. The added V Skill and V Trigger makes him into a virtual wall of destruction at close range. His moves are as follows.

Hundred-Hand Slap: E honda's patented move allows him to pressure his opponent very effective in a corner and at close range. Handa move into a grab should the opponent tries to block using the Oicho Throw which is effective for putting opponents in a corner.

Sumo Headbutt: is another E Honda move that can be used to pressure his opponent as it can easily be chained to a combo and used to close the distance between his opponent.

Sumo Smash: when out of close range too. Use these to get back in your opponent’s grill and back into close range combat. It works as an anti air and when timed is a good way to avoid projectiles.

V Skill Neko Damashi gives Honda a clap that destroys projectiles and it can be cancelled to be used in combo chain and other supers. It can hit jumping opponents if timed correctly.

V Trigger 1 Onigawara: is a strong headbutt that when the buttons are held down can break blocking opponents. Plus it can be easily be applied in combo strings and for keeping the pressure on blocking opponents.

V-Trigger 2 Tajikarao: Is a command throw where you can slam an opponent but it has one level of armor so you can take a hit from an opponent and still grab the poor sucker for a throw.

Honda's move set specially her new V Skill and V Trigger makes him a tank that can give opponents a world of hurt if they are caught in a corner. And his V Skill slap makes sure enemies will think twice before throwing a projectile attack. These new skill additions doesn't make him overpowering but makes him more versatile and fun to play with.

Just check out this crazy combo here from youtuber desk.

Poison

Next up is Poison the femme fatale of the Madgear gang from Final Fight. Although unlike in Street Fighter x Tekken this new version carries a whip that can hit opponents from the distance. In fact this Poison feels like an entirely new character altogether from what most folks are used to. Just check out her move list.

Long-range attacks with the whip: The new basic attacks of Poison uses a long range whip. This makes sure opponents keep their distance. It does takes a bit of getting used to.

Avant Line: This is basically a multi-hit whip attack.

Heart Line: Poison uses her whip at hit either high, mid, or low angles. Poison can cancel out the move during start up and turn to her normal neutral stance. Good for faking out opponents.

V-Skill - Perfume Swing: Poison swings in close to her opponent ala Spider-man. This can close the distance between her and her opponent and avoid fireballs. It has two distance and can be canceled to do into an attack.

V-Trigger 1 - Poison Cocktail: This V-Trigger lets Poison toss out a molotov cocktail either upwards or straight at them. When the molotov hits the ground it leaves a flame puddle that harms her opponent. It can also be used in combo chains or an anti air.

V-Trigger 2 - Toxic Glamor: This gives her two special command throws using her whip. She can commend throw from a distance and this throws can be chained into a combo or a special move.

Poison isn't knew to fighting games but with her whip she's like a whole different character that even newbies and veteran need to watch out for. The added range attack and long range grab throw with her whip will keep even the most seasoned players up to their toes.

Just look at this video of once again by youtuber desk

Lucia

Last up is Lucia the detective from Metro City that first appeared in Final Fight 3. Some say her movestyle uses a lot of kick attacks like Ken but those that know her from Final Fight 3 knows that kicks is her specialty. Still she has some really sweet moves that has a lot of potentials. Just check for yourself.

Firecracker and Flipper Shot: Lucia's fireball takes some time as she first off needs to kick it up in the air. Flip shot allows her to kick said fireball and the distance and variety of ways she kicks it keeps her opponent on her toes or they get burn.

Gun Smoke: A new type of command dash taht allows her to get in close with multiple follow-up options like Rough Chase, Tornado Spinner and others. You can cancel it into a grab too.

Fire Spinner: A flaming kick that allows Lucia to avoid low-hitting attacks. It looks like a fire hurricane kick that ken uses and has the same crazy combo potential.

V-Skill Tap-Kick: A multi-hitting kick that reminds me of her move in Final Fight 3. Not as aggressive as chun li's kicks but still just as dangerous specially when put into a combo chain.

V-Trigger 1 Burning Fight: This gives Lucias kicks the fire property giving her kick attacks with a lot of damage potential as if her kick combos aren't dangerous enough already.

V-Trigger 2 Weapon Fury: Lucia pulls out her police tonfa baton which gives her access her Tactical Weapon skills. This is similar to Cody with his knife weapon giving Lucia some rather sweet moves too.

Lucia skill is pretty decent but her ability to kick her Firecracker which starts off as an anti air skill moving at an arch towards her opponent as a projectile makes her a tricky fighter and something pro players would love to explore and exploit.

Here's a video of Lucia going to work once again by desk.

So who among these three are you excited for? Each of the three new characters offer something different in terms of gameplay so its basically what type of game style you use. Are you a distance player or a close range one likes to do it close and keeps the pressure on your opponent. Personally Im excited to see Lucia in the big Street Fighter game leagues but that's just me.

Disclaimer: I don't own the pics used in this article it's just there for reference.
