Before
I delve into writing my review to Deadpool 2 I've decided to watch the first
Deadpool movie again and do a quick review of that first. I think that way I can get
a good comparison whether I like the first Deadpool movie or the second one.
Note
that this will be a quick none spoiler review so those that haven't watched
Deadpool won't get spoiled on it plus Ill just be tackling on the basic. With
that out of the way lets continue.
Deadpool
is probably the best R rated movie to come out that isnt made by the guys
behind the MCU. It got everything what a lot of folks wanted in a Deadpool
movie. A lot of fourth wall breaks, jokes courtesy of Deadpool himself, some
swearing and sprinkled with some violence that Deadpool Comics are famous for.
The
humor, the violence and jokes might not be for everyone but those that know Deadpool
and are fans of the character will feel right at home here. Not to mention this
is probably the best version of Colossus that Ive seen since the character
first appearance on the big screen. Even the music fits without it being forced
or it sounding like something from a GOTG film.
The
story was ok for a Deadpool movie since Deadpool is barely been known to fight
enemies with the fate of the world hanging in the balance. The small changes
they made regarding the origin of the character works well considering the budget
this film had.
A
movie isnt without its bad side though as I feel certain scene could have been
executed better. The villain is rather weak and forgettable but that's a small
issue considering how a lot of this movie was done right.
