The Dessert Museum In-depth Review

You ever dream of what its like to sleep under sheets made of cotton candy? Maybe you wished to experience a what it feels like standing under a rain of sweets. If either of the two tickles your fancy then this might be the place for you. A Dessert Museum recently opened in the local Metro and me and my sweet toothed partner decided to get an early bird booking on the opening date which was on February 10, 2018. Sadly since this place seem to be the new hot trend in the City we couldnt get an earlier time slot so we had to settle for something around after dinner time.

Be warned that this is a spoiler filled review of the place so if you want to experience it yourself please stop reading this article although theres really nothing much I can add that isnt already featured in news articles and the internet before. With that out of the way lets continue.

The Dessert Museum located at S. Mason Conrad at Conrad Manila. Its basically just behind the SM MOA SMX Building before the Bay Area. It boast unique 8 dessert-themed rooms where you can visually, mentally and gastronomically enjoy.

With each of the rooms feeling liks something out of a Hansel and Gretel scene thankfully without that scary witch. If you are going to bring kids along Id suggest you keep a close eye on them as cute as these rooms they are not exactly children friendly and can be very dangerous.

I'd advice folks to take bathroom breaks as you are allowed to enjoy each room for fifteen minutes for a total of a two hours Dessert Museum experience in its entirety and there is no bathroom in the museum itself. So drink light. Also be ready for a long two hours walk as there is very little in terms of resting benches in the entire duration of the tour. With that being said lets delve into what each room has to offer.

DOUGHNUT ROOM

The first room would be the doughnut room which is obvious cause of the big doughnut shaped entrance which visitors can enjoy well...doughnuts. Very big doughnuts making for a very dreamy looking doughnut filled dream look.

MARSHMALLOW ROOM

The marshmallow room which is probably one of my favorite room since you can feel like you are actually standing under a rain of marshmallow. They also give you a marshmallow treat in this room with your choice of flavor.

CANDY ROOM

The candy cane room with blue and pink giant candy canes. There is even a see saw and swing you can play around with. I love the aesthetic combination of pink and blue on this room makes it like its something from an Alice in Wonderland scene. You can get a macaron treat there too. Giant candy canes and giant candy. Theres even a cabinet with jars filled with what I can guess is candy.

ICE CREAM ROOM

Ice cream themed room. Theres even a giant ice cream cone air balloon prop for those Instagram savvy folks and of course a free ice cream pop for the visitors. Theres even a giant ice cream cone at the center of the room with ice cream that reaches the ceiling. oddly I still think this room needs more ice cream inspired props like maybe Ice cream hats.

BUBBLE GUM ROOM

Theres a big giant gumball machine thingie at the center where folks can enter in groups of six to experience whats it like being inside a gumball machine. This room is great for taking a photo or video if you can manage. Theres also a bubble machine both big and small for extra fun. Just watch your step as the floor is often wet due to the bubble machine and its slippery.

GUMMY BEAR

Gummy bears, gummy bears everywhere is the theme of this room. And you can find them in different sizes and color. Theres even a bathtub filled with gum balls which I took the time to relax in since its not often you get to dip in a bathtub filled with bubble gums. And even mini trampoline to play with. Oh and they are also gummy bear candy as treats in this room.

COTTON CANDY

Yet another one of my favorite room the cotton candy room. It is what the name says...a cotton candy themed room. Its kind of like being in the clouds but with pink cotton candy instead of clouds. Theres even a big cotton candy looking machine in it and a tree house thingie made from cotton candy.

CAKE POPS LOLLIPOP ROOM

Cake pops are basically cake on a stick. This room is modeled from it and theres even giant upside down lollipop where you can ride on and get a picture. Theres even a hoop where you can shoot some candy pops through and of course free cake pops as well.

If going through all those eight room still hasnt satisfied your sugar rush than you might consider taking a candy themed souvenirs. These things are super cute and goes well with nearly anything.

Overall the Dessert Museum is truly a one of a kind experience and something any Instagram fan should try at least once. I'd agree the price is a bit too much and certain facilities are somewhat lacking like candy themed resting benches its still a truly enjoyable experience. If the management decide to lower the entrance prices a lot more folks would enjoy it more.

Heres a little video I made of the Dessert Museum set on repeat. Enjoy.
