This
movie is clearly one of my most anticipated movie of the year. Specially since
the first movie was a solid film for me with the right mix of geekness and
story that is rare in animated films these days.
The
second trailer does a better job of showing what the movie is about as in an
actual idea on why Ralph and Vanellope decided to go into the internet to begin
with.
Sure
there's a summary of the plot you can find in the internet on what the movie is about but seeing it play out in the trailer was so much better and sets up the tone on what the movie is going
for.
I
noticed that aside from the other side characters this film has a lot less video
game character cameos as the first which was expected since this is the internet and no
longer the arcade area that is the first movie.
It's
nice how they showed Ralph as this new guy who has no idea on what the internet
is and shows this in funny and cute ways. Also hats off for being keeping the
characters self aware.
I
like how we got a little bit of a story conflict in this trailer between the
characters and its both exciting and scary how far the are willing to bring
this supposed plot by the end of the film when the movie shows in theaters.
I
also like how this movie sort of rips of existing games without really actually
ripping them. Like how Slaughter Race feels like Need for Speed Most Wanted and
GTA rolled into one.
Also
I love how the rendering of Slaughter Race and the characters in it looks edgy
and more detailed to show how much of a newer game it is compared to the ones
Ralph and his friends are used to in the arcade. Im happy to see Fix it and Calhaun
are also in this and no doubt going to bring the cavalry should things turn
upside down.
I
also like to add that this movie centers around Vanellope emotional crisis more
as was the first movie was more about Ralphs coming of age sort of story. Still
no actual villain though there have been rumors about who it could be.
Still
wished they showed more video game character cameos but Ill gladly trade those
for better plot and this new trailer showed its most likely going to be as
engaging and heartfelt as the first one.
My daughter’s birthday is around the corner and I am so excited for the day. All her friends are coming over and I have planned to show this movie to all of them. Last year we watched episodes by Andy Yeatman on Netflix but that wasn’t possible this time because the kids have exhausted all the episodes already.
