Solo: A Starwars Story Official Teaser Trailer Reaction

The new Han teaser trailer entitled as Solo: A Starwars Story just dropped on youtube and It appears to be a lot darker in tone than what you would expect from a Starwars movie...save maybe for Rogue One. Not sure if its the lighting or the setting but it feels a bit more serious in tone.

Being dark is not a bad thing though but when folks think of Solo they think of that rough cut smuggler who likes to talk his way out of situations he cant out run or out shoot. Likes to fling jokes and one liners when a scene calls for it. he has that certain swag and charm which I oddly dont feel on this one.

It was nice to see the Falcon again and that we get to see it being used to outrun the Empire again. Not surprising since we know Solo has sort of a shady reputation and probably got a bounty or two on his head.

The new villain on looks good though and I can feel cosplayers making cosplans as the video dropped. I just hope it wont be a disappointment like Phazma who is really under used in the past film.

The cast looks good too with the young Lando looking pretty much like his adult counterpart. Some new characters and a new droid as well. The supporting cast cast and most of the main cast seems solid.

Oddly the only bad part I see is Alden's voice and movement. He looks good but I dont feel the Han Solo vibe from him. Solo is sort of more Western style movement to him, Alden on the otherhand feels more like a Bladerunner-ish character. It was nice to see they didnt change chewy for this.

Im so glad the musical score feels Starwars enough. Overall aside from that flaw I like how the film is looking judging from this teaser trailer. A bit too dark for my taste. And somewhat lacking that Solo charm. I hope this wont effect the movie much.
