Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet Game Trailer Reaction

With the new Sword Art Online game from Bandai artfully named Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet finally nearing its released date this February I think its about I made a short article about it now. Ive heard this game last year from a friend and its slowly shaping into a solid rpg third person shooter. The game is based out of the Gun Gale Online game seen in the anime series Sword Art Online. Featuring versatile landscapes and environments with unique and realistic designs resembling a sci-fi movie and also features numerous other weapons and fighting styles to choose from.

Sword Art Online the Fatal Bullet is a Third Person Shooter with Role-Playing Elements, it is scheduled to be released on February 8, 2018on the PlayStation 4, XBox One, as well as Personal Computers (PCs) via Steam. The game is developed by Dimps, using the Unreal Engine 4, and will be set in Gun Gale Online. It will be the first Sword Art Online TPSRPG (Third Person Shooter Role Playing Game) and the first Sword Art Online game on the XBox One platform.

Gun Gale Online in the latest game of the SAO franchise in Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet. Aside from the shooting elements players can also Interact with characters from the Sword Art Online original novels, anime and previous games mostly in in NPC form like Lisbeth who is that female Blacksmith from Sword Art Online who is now...also a blacksmith of sort, How about Asuna who is an expert swords woman is now...making costumes. Sigh.

I still dont get the idea why Asuna or even Lisbeth is even in this game even as NPC when they never once played GGO in the anime. I dont even know where this game fits into the SAO timeline or in the light novel. But hey thats just me being picky. Truth be told it be nice to see Asuna in a GGO outfit even for an NPC.

This game clearly plays a lot like a colorful anime shooter with the dodging elements of Gunz Online. It even has that Rocket-slide move made famous by the game Vanquish. The game has a wide variety of weapons from hand guns, to lightsabers to snipers and even BB Guns. There is an option for duel wield or a lightsaber and gun combo like kirito. You can even use a grappling hook to get to hard to reach places or get a tactical advantage of the high ground against your enemies.

The game single player story mode seems to happens simultaneously with the events that happened with the anime as well but I read somewhere it will have some little variation with the plot and ending with the anime itself.

Graphics wise this has the feel of Gun Gale Online right to the core, from the sci fi desert environment to the crowded city. Theres even certain areas taken right from the anime itself that Im sure fans of SAO and GGO would have nostalgia seeing in all its grandeur. The character moves smooth but very little clipping issues that can easily be addressed before the game release. The NPC and character designs are all pure eye candy and really adds the feel that you are really in the anime itself. You even got a character companion robot AI that you can also customize.

The character design and customization reminds me so much of Phantasy Online. Sadly with only one slot allotted for costumes as of present, but I think that slot differs from avatar customization. It is somewhat limited compared to other existing shooters out there in the market today. Each outfit is nicely done though and the ability to change color of the outfit, hair and eye color is a welcome plus. I still hope this will be much like Sword Art Online Hallow Realization or better. But we will have to see once the game is officially released.

Overall the game looks to be a great game for fans of SAO and the GGO arc who wants to immerse themselves in its sci fi western world. Controls are easy enough for casual gamers with a nice mixture of a third person shooter and an RPG in one. Fans of SAO and GGO will surely enjoy playing this game and fans of Online shooters and Online RPG should at least give this game a try.
