Is Capcom Finally Getting Ready to Reveal the Resident Evil Remake

Fans have long requested a remake of the much beloved Resident Evil 2 PlayStation One survival horror game since the remake of the first Resident Evil games remake met with a lot of positive comments. But it was not until sometime during 2015 that fans get an official announcement of The Resident Evil 2 Remake was officially being made, but no gameplay or footage from the game was ever shown. All we folks had to go on was a logo for the PS1 revival and the confirmation that it is being made. Since then Capcom has gone quiet on the Resident Evil 2 Remake. Aside from confirming it’ll be a full remake rather than a remastered HD. Back in June he said the highly anticipated game would be out “soon”. It's expected to be released on PS4 and Xbox One.

Resident Evil 2 is fast approaching its 20th birthday, with next Sunday January 21 going to be two decades since it was first released. For those who dont know, Resident Evil 2 was originally released on January 21 1998 in Japan and North America before a European release on April 29 1998. So looks like our patience is going to off, with a number of things pointing towards a Resident Evil 2 Remake announcement soon.

Recently the official Biohazard Twitter account updating the profile image from the old Resident Evil VII - Biohazard logo to a logo many fans believe is more distinctly distinctively Resident Evil 2. It still has the baker house in the background but the logo is more Resident Evil 2-ish with the red font unlike the original which is white and Orange as you can see below.

There is also a subtle change in the japanese Resident Evil page as well with it showing a blank spot on the upper left of the screen hinting that something is definitely being brewed within the said company. Those spots are usually reserve for upcoming games and expansion DLC. As you can see by the image below we got Biohazard 2 Revelations 1 and 2 then the new Biohazard Gold Edition and then the black blank space. Im sure me and a lot of fans are more hoping its leaning towards the new game that is the Resident Evil Remake.

Some folks have already started comparing the new logo as to the writing of this Blog to the one shown behind producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi when he announced the making of the Resident Evil Remake in a video in the official Resident Evil youtube account back in 2015 and sure enough the color and the style matches.

Here's a link of the said video of the Resident Evil remake on youtube back in 2015 in their official youtube page: Resident Evil 2 Remake – Special Message from Producer “H”

Sadly we already know that some of the original voices. wont be coming back for the remake as was already told some time back but hey we can only hope for the best at this point.

Theres was a picture shared by Roronoa Wesker on the internet with a side to side comparison hinting that said new logo is actually from Resident Evil 2 Remake logo seen at the 2015 video that further cements the idea that this logo is indeed the same type used in the original Resident Evil 2 one. Check out the pic below.

They also changed the profile pic of the social media account on Facebook as well to reflect the new white and red logo of Resident Evil to also reflect this.

Here's the link if you want to see it yourself:  Resident Evil

With Recent Resident Evil games has slowly moved away from the fixed third person since Resident Evil 3 opting for a more over the shoulder third person perspective found in most of the modern day third person shooters. games like Resident Evil 4 to Resident Evil 6 being a testament to this move. With recently with the Resident Evil 7 being a sounding success with its first person gameplay giving the survival horror feel back to the franchise will we see more of the same gameplay with the new Resident Evil 2 Remake. Fans can always speculate. Either way I'm sure everyone is excited of the concept of the Remake and cant wait to hear more.

Again like any game announcement we as fans should take a lot of this with a grain of salt since things change on the fly in the gaming industries. But its good to know that something is brewing on Capcoms side of things. I'm going to keep a close watch on this as much as I can. Hopefully we get something good come January 21.
