Starwars Day 2019

Starwars Day is an event celebrated yearly by Starwars fans worldwide with it falling during the 4th of May yearly ...or what would Starwars fans would mostly call it May the 4th going with the word play of "May the 4th be with You" making a word play of the famous Starwars quote.

Being a Starwars fan and Starwars cosplayer I wouldn't want to miss this for the world so I grab my cosplay gear and headed to the venue for this once a year event.

Starwars Day 2019 was held this year at the third floor of SM Aura Taguig in front of Toy Kingdom in the Philippines. Back in 2016 it was held in SM Megamall also in front of Toy Kingdom. Having a new venue is nice but SM Aura isn't  exactly as accessible as SM Megamall was so it's not as crowded as back in 2016.

This year real life Starwars helmets are on display for those who like to see how the movie realistic props looks like. I'm sure any hardcore fan of Starwars would love to see them up close.

There's also a bunch of Starwars merchandise from clothes, action figures and Starwars theme NERF guns at really reasonable and cheap prices. if I didn't have an over abundance of Starwars toys already I would have easily bought one. A Starwars action figure alone that is worth around nearly two thousand pesos can now be bought for only six hundred pesos during the event. It's a bargain any Starwars bounty hunter would find very enticing.

Philippine Lightsaber, Fightsaber and the 501st Philippine are also there to grace the event for stage appearances, photo ops and skits. They even have a program where they teach folks about Starwars lore and Lightsaber lessons for kids and adults alike.

Folks at SM Aura during the event itself were also treated by a Starwars parade that went all over the mall area. Event goers can also try their shooting skill at using NERF Guns at a mini Starwars theme shooting gallery.

There is a mini Starwars cosplay contest for kids and fans alike that me and my friend decided to join just for the heck of it. We didn't win but we got consolation prices and it's the enjoyment and the experience of joining one is what is always fun about it.

The event was really fun that I didn't notice it was already late and was time to go home. Was so busy checking out the toys and displays and having fun with friends that time always flies so fast during these kind of events. Well there will always be next year.
