The awesome
folks at Otakuzine Anime Magazine are at it again to bring otaku and anime fans
its annual Ozine Fest Event. One of the most anticipated and well known anime/otaku
event in the Philippines . Ozine Fest Anime Figure Special is
a two day event once again held at Megatrade Hall 2 of SM Megamall.
It was already
the second day of the event when I got to the event due to a busy family
Christmas schedule and got to Megamall around 2 in the afternoon which is
pretty late when one wants to avail of the freebies they also offered for early
bird ticket holders. Something that has become a staple for a lot of the major
otaku events in the Country.

Ozine has
been giving annual otaku events for some ten plus years now and still is going
strong with the first event going as far back as December of 2005 held at
Robinsons Galleria and the next year after that held at Le Pavillion. It was
around Ozines third year around April that the venue was finally been the
Megatrade hall of SM Megamall where it has been held ever since, which I find
ideal since its sort of the middle ground of North and South Area.

Due to the
lines I got inside later and started checking out the booths. First thing that
caught my attention are the Gundam merchandise they got on sale. Im a big fan
of the franchise but sadly due to a busy schedule I havent been keeping up with
the Gundam trend and much of the Gundam toys are alien to me.
Second
thing I noticed are the otaku anime booths that sells items that range from
pillows, keychains, t-shirt and anime figures, plushy, caps, bags. Truly an
otaku paradise. I took a mental note to save up on a Final Fantasy Cap I saw at
one of the booths.
I took some
photos of nearly every cosplayer that perked my interest. Ive wanted to take
more but Im not familiar with the other cosplay characters so I only took the
ones that Im somewhat familiar with. I also met some cosplayer friends and
photographers while I was going around. Its a nice feeling when they still
recognize you out of costume and we have some laughs and chat about our
favorite anime fandom.
There was a
photo booth for those who want to take their photos taken with an anime
inspired background. Oh and also a Maid Cafe for those who want to experience
being served their favorite meal and drinks by lovely cosplay Maids. Something
Id suggest everyone should experience at least once.
One of my
favorite part are the artist booths. There one can get those one of a kind
personalized commissioned fan art from really talented artist. I remember buying
a set of RWBY fan art from these booths and its one of my favorite collection
to this day. The Meet and Greet line is long which is no surprise since those
things are a lot cheaper than flying to Taiwan or some Country abroad just to
meet these special Guest in person. They also have Toy auctions, anime karaoke,
cosplay competition and cool mini games such as darts. I notice some folks
enjoying an anime card game.
And what
otaku and anime event wouldn't be complete without the cosplayers to liven
things up. Cosplayers from different anime and game graced Ozine Fest annually
to have fun in costume and impersonate their favorite characters for everyone
to enjoy. Im sure the parents and the kids that passed by the event enjoyed
taking photos of them and with them. Ozine has something for everyone to make
their Christmas experience complete.
